Raffaele Medici

September 16, 1931 — July 21, 2021

Raffaele "Ralph" Medici, Sr., 89, of North Providence, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at HopeHealth Hospice Center in Providence. He was the husband of the late Helen (Dombrowski) Medici. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Genoveffa (Grande) and Luigi Medici.

Ralph grew up in Silver Lake. He worked in the electrical department at the Providence Journal for 30 years. He was president of the North Providence West Little League, Commander of the Lymansville VFW Post, Chairman of the NP Bicentennial Committee, Grand Marshal of the NP Memorial Day Parade and trade instructor at the North Providence Johnston Boy's Club. Ralph spent a good part of his 30 years of retirement enjoying ballroom dancing and listening to music and going to the casino.

He is survived by his daughters, Maria Marcello and her husband Bob, and Andrea Wayland and her husband John; a son, Ralph Medici Jr., and six grandchildren Alexandra, Steven and Audrey Marcello, Jack Wayland, and Helena and Sofia Medici.
He was the brother of the late Pasqualina Iafrate, Amelia Martin and Americo Medici.

Ralph's family would like to give a special thank you to the Johnston Dialysis Center for their care and compassion during his six years of dialysis.

His Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at 9 am from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mt. Pleasant Ave, Providence. Burial with military honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are Monday 4-7 pm.
