Oreste A. Montella

Oreste A. Montella, 87, of North Providence, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Anna (Mansi) Montella. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Phillip and Jane (Taddei) Montella.

Mr. Montella was a product designer for ITT – Hamel Dahl before retiring. He was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Lawrence Church and enjoyed painting. A decorated Navy Veteran of World War II, Mr. Montella served in both the European and Pacific Theatres

Besides his wife of 59 years, he is survived by his son Mark Montella and his wife Karen; three daughters, Rosanne Galligan and her husband Edward, Lori Ann Labrie and her husband, Raymond and Francesca Cote and her husband, Kenneth; a brother, Phillip Montella and five grandchildren, Jonathan, Ross and Jared Cote and Brian and Julia Clark. He was the brother of the late Lucy Rossi, Michael, Thomas and William Montella.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, 624 Woonasquatucket Ave., North Providence. Visitation respectfully omitted. Burial with Military Honors will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Please omit flowers.
