Louis Melo Soares

Louis M. Soares, 67, of North Providence, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 21, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Rosa C. (Couto) Soares for 41 years. Born in St. Michael, Azores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Luis Soares Pacheco and Evangelina Melo Pacheco.

Louis enjoyed his retirement and was most notably a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his three cherished daughters, Christina Diaz and her husband, Jerry, Diana Soares and Michelle Soares; five sisters, Maria Oliveira, Maria Costa, Connie O'Brien and her husband, Mark, Teresa Cox and her husband, Edward and Lucy Moniz and her husband, Joe; his treasured grandson, Brandon Diaz; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Manny Soares.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 9 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Ave., Providence. Burial will follow on Saturday in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Friday 4 - 7 p.m.
