George K. McDonald, 57, of Providence, passed away Monday, November 30, 2020 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the husband of Linda (Delomba) McDonald. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late George and Patricia (Kavanagh) McDonald.
George was an avid baseball and basketball player in his younger years. His favorite thing to do in his later years was to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and to go fishing as well. George worked as a master plumber in the Providence School Department.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, Marissa McDonald, George McDonald and Michael Labbadia; three brothers, Thomas, Kenneth and Daniel McDonald; two sisters, Patricia and Kelly McDonald; four grandchildren, Jaylin, Annalyiah, Angelina and Giovanni; a niece, Ella Grace McDonald; and a nephew, Jordan Thomas McDonald. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews on his wife's side.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 11 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Ave., Providence. Burial will be private and visitation is respectfully omitted. Donations in George's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd., Suite 3004, Warwick, RI 02886.
