Frances M. Zajac

Frances M. Zajac, 76, of Johnston, passed away Monday, July 15, 2019 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital.  She was the beloved wife of Joseph W. Zajac, Jr. (Ret. Lt. N.P.P.D.); they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on December 28, 2018.  Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late Albion and Jane (Morris) Holden. Before retiring, Frances worked as a Department Manager for Stop & Shop in both the Florist and Bakery departments for many years.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She leaves behind her four children, Jo-Ann Joyal and her husband Peter, Joseph W. Zajac III and his wife Lori, Michael Zajac and his wife Christine, and Karen Knox and her husband Todd; and her nine treasured grandchildren, Matthew, Nathan and Paige Joyal, Michael, Cole and Ava Zajac and Nico, Isabella and Rocco Casamassima; and her cherished canine companion Winston.  She was predeceased by her brother, Ralph Holden and her sister, Anne DiMuccio. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 10 a.m. in St. Rocco Church, 927 Atwood Ave., Johnston. Inurnment will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.  Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frances' memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St,.
