September 5, 1925 - November 28, 2020
Filomena Paolino, 95, of North Providence, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Elmhurst Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. Born in Barrington, she was the daughter of the late John and Christina (Rega) Paolino. Ms. Paolino had happily worked as a podiatrist assistant for many years before retiring. A devoted sister, aunt and friend, she is survived by her nieces Christine Rioles (beloved wife of the late Paul R. Rioles), Mary Inglesi, Roslyn Desrosiers, her nephews Peter DeMasi and his wife Marguerite, Bill Paolino and his wife Peg as well as so many great nieces and great nephews including Noreen Inglesi, Brenda and Paul S. Rioles, Carol Boucher, Sandra Teeden, Linda Martin, Peter, Paul and Matthew Demasi, Gail Pereschino, Karen Pezzullo , Lynne Conti, Cynthia Moreau, Christina Berger, Rita Matraia. She was the sister of the late Anthony Paolino, Emilio Paolino, Mary Lutrario, Melinda Inglesi, Anna Monente, Edith 'Ida' Perrotta and Angelina 'Tina' Pezzullo and Florence Demasi. Filomena Paolino, was the youngest sister, often referred to as the "Kid"" even later in life. She was adventurous and loved life. Two of her fondest moments were meeting "DON HO' on a girls trip to Hawaii in her younger years and a recent trip to "Barbados" with Brenda and Paul's family to visit her niece's "Mansion" as she liked to call it) where she happily climbed down a cliff walk staircase so she and her sister Florence could go to the beautiful beach. The siblings were a close-knit group who gathered together often, through generations, celebrating the family's births, weddings and achievements as well as mourning the passing of so many through the years. Our greatest memory is of her and "all the sisters" loading up into the car and going on road trips together where they all talked over one another and laughed often. Sometimes, these road trips led to Florida! No matter how old she was, she was always the "kid" of the group, never married and was looked after by all. Her sense of humor was infectious, and no one enjoyed being in the center of that family group more than "Filly". Her laughter, her voice, and her smile will be fondly remembered by all who were lucky enough to share time with her. Her burial will be private with a celebration of life to occur at a future date.
