Ernest Moccio, 88, of Johnston, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Golden Crest Nursing Centre. He was the husband of the late Emelia (Capraro) Moccio. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Luigi and Michelina (Schettini) Moccio.
Mr. Moccio worked as a mechanic for Boggess Buick of East Providence before retiring. He was an Army Veteran of World War II.
He is survived by two sisters, Elena Camparone and Ann Thompson and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late John Moccia, Mary Violetta, Theresa Valente and Elisa Ray.
His funeral will be held Monday, June 18, 2012 at 9 a.m. from the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Atwood Ave., Johnston. Visitation Sunday 3-6 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St Robert Bellarmine Food Closet, 1804 Atwood Ave., Johnston, RI 02919. maceroni.com.
