Americo "Rico" Colasanto, 97, of Providence, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2022. He was the husband of the late Luigina (Colangelo) Colasanto. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Emiro and Jennie (Pelaino) Colasanto.
Rico owned and operated Blanche's Cleaners for twelve years and later worked as a tailor for Jordan Marsh before retiring in 1987. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II.
A loving and devoted father and grandfather, he is survived by his daughter, Virginia Ferri and her husband Vincent; and two grandchildren, Donna Ferri and Vincent Ferri, Jr. He was the brother of the late Frank Colasanto, Valentino Colasanto, Theresa DiRobbio and Emma Loprieato.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, September 9, 2022 at 10 a.m. in St. Pius V Church, Eaton St., Providence. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Visitation is respectfully omitted.
