Robert A. Zambrano, 64, of Lebanon, CT, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mariette (Pelletier) Zambarano.
He attended URI and graduated in 1975 in Civil Engineering. He proudly served his country as a civil engineer for the US Army Corps of Engineers at the Radford Arsenal in Radford, VA and the Tobyhanna Army Depot in Tobyhanna, PA. For the past twenty years, Bob worked as the Public Works Supervisory Engineer (HMFIC) for the U.S. Navy Groton Submarine Base. His favorite work uniform included a Hawaiian shirt.
He was a gifted artist, an unrewarded fisherman, an ace mechanic, and a creative and resourceful engineer and builder. His many boating misadventures were widely shared, thoroughly documented, and the source of much entertainment. He served his community as a member of the Lebanon Lions Club. His greatest accomplishment was being a loving, devoted, incredible father and grandfather. He was greatly loved and he will be sorely missed by the many lives he touched.
Bob is survived by his three children, Sarah, Kristin, and Aaron; a brother Stephen Zambarano; two sisters, Maria and Nancy Zambarano; and his three beloved granddaughters, Talula, Vivienne, and Kira. He was the brother of the late Mark Zambarano. He is also survived by his wife, Heidi Flanagan and her three daughters, Colleen, Megan, and Shannon.
A Celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, RI. Burial will be private. VISITATION WEDNESDAY 4 -7 p.m. Before his passing, Bob requested that his family and friends bring small, personal mementos or notes to place in his casket.
