Jeannette V. Guevara, 64, of North Providence, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2018.
Born in Providence, RI, she graduated from St. Mary’s Academy of the Visitation in 1972. She attended the Boston Conservatory, and received both her BA and her MA from Roger Williams University. In addition to giving private piano lessons, she also taught private instructional music at Moses Brown Academy. She worked for 27 years as an administrative secretary and Spanish interpreter for the RI jury commissioner’s office.
In addition to her husband, Arnellito Alvarez, she leaves her brother, David Brothers, her sister, Ann-Maria Guevara (Glennon), her children, Nicole Scanlon (Romero) and David Marrero and her step-children, Jennifer Alvarez and Karl Alvarez, as well as grandchildren Gabriella and Robert James (Scanlon).
Her funeral will be held Friday, November 30, 2018 at 9 a.m. from MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Ave., Providence. Committal prayers will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-7 p.m.
