Fred L. Principe, 77, of North Providence, passed away Friday, April 19, 2019 surrounded by his loving family at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Cardente) Principe for 25 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Fernando and Mary (Renola) Principe.
Fred owned and operated Allary’s, an iconic Jazz Night Club in Downtown Providence and more recently Christopher’s as well as several other dining establishments before retiring. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by six children, David Principe and his wife Denise, Donna Jeffrey and her husband Douglas, Kimberly Quirini and her husband David, Kristine DeComo and her husband Peter, Kara Smith and her husband Daniel, William Kapanakis and the late Gregory Kapanakis. A brother, Robert Principe; a sister, Janet Perry; his mother-in-law, Esther Cardente; and fourteen grandchildren, Douglas, Christopher, Alexander, Tara, D.J., Mia, Nicholas, Gabriella, Juliana, Daniel, Abigail, Kristiana, Samantha and Christopher.
His funeral will be held Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 10 a.m. from the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Ave., Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
