William "Billy" Box

July 20, 1933 — August 4, 2014

WILLIAM T. “BILLY” BOX, 81, of Johnston, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 4, 2014 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Rose (Ucci) Box for 58 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Thomas D. and Angelina “Lena” (DeSantis) Box.

Billy worked as a Supervisor for the Davol Rubber Company before retiring and had served in the Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed football games, handicapping the horses, dining with friends and cheering on his grandchildren as they played their various sports. Billy believed in family values, his own family being his passion and joy.

Besides his wife he is survived by his beloved children, Thomas Box of Henderson, NV and Angela Such and her husband David of Cranston; three cherished grandchildren, David, William and Marissa Such; a dear sister, Eldareen Gingras and her husband Norman of Hope Valley and a brother-in-law, Albert Ucci. He also leaves his loving niece, Sandra (Ucci) Leite; a nephew, Armand Ucci; and many grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives and friends.

His funeral will be held Friday, August 8, 2014 at 9 a.m. from the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, 645 Hartford Ave., Providence. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITATION THURSDAY 4-8 p.m.
