Wilfred “Willie” Calvin Kettenring, 82, from Lincoln passed peacefully on Friday, July 15, 2016, survived by the love and support of his four children, Calvin Kettenring, Carol Joyce and his son-in-law Frank Joyce, Catherine Kettenring, and Craig Kettenring; his grandchildren, Stephen and Nicholas Venckus, and Caitlin Joyce; greatgrandchild, Aidan Venckus, his longtime companion and friend, Maryjane Votta and her immediate family, Maryjane and Anthony Rampone, their children, Rianna and A.J., and Joseph and Karen Votta, and their children, Taryn and Thomas. He is also survived by his former wife, Loretta Kettenring.
Willie was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on March 17, 1934. He honorably served as an Engineman Second Class with the United States Navy during the Korean conflict on the U.S.S. Staten Island and the U.S.S. Burton Island. He later in life retired as a foreman and electrician from Motorola. He will be greatly missed for his keen intellect, sense of humor and caring heart.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, July 21st at 9am at Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 1081 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Burial with Military Honors will follow at RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. .
