Walter J. Tutay

WALTER J. TUTAY, 82, of Johnston, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the husband of Elvira “Vera” (Spicola) Tutay. Born in Manville, he was the son of the late Michael and Ann (Jusczuk) Tutay.

Mr. Tutay was an Army Veteran serving from 1954 to 1956. He worked at Quonset as a welder until their closing. He also worked in many jewelry firms and Rhode Island Hospital Trust now Bank of America, until he retired in 1992.

Walter enjoyed fishing and most of all doing yard work and planting flowers. He was an avid Yankee Fan!

Besides his wife of 43 years he is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Paul Tutay who had resided in California.

Visitation will be held Tuesday Morning from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Ave., Johnston. Interment with Military Honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Robert Bellarmine Food Pantry, 1804 Atwood Ave., Johnston, RI 02919.
