MEGLIO, VITO A., 80, of North Providence, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2006, at Miriam Hospital. He was the husband of Norma ( DiMario) Meglio. They had been married for 53 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Tomasso and Restituta (Monti) Meglio. He had lived in North Providence for the past 43 years.

He had worked for the U.S. Post Office for 30 years and had been a supervisor at the Olneyville Branch for 10 years until his retirement in 1985. He was an Army-Air Corps Veteran of WWII and served in India and was a member of VFW Post 13 of Providence and the Disabled American Veterans of R.I.. He was also a communicant of St. Augustine Church.

Vito was a loving husband and father and a devoted grandfather. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Thomas N. and Anthony V. Meglio; a daughter, Norma-Jean Corsini; two brothers, Angelo and Richard Meglio; a sister Eleanora Paolantonio and five grandchildren, Nicole and Anthony Meglio, Maria and Joseph Corsini and Arthur Corsini, Jr. He was the brother of the late Elenora Meglio.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday at 11am, in St. Augustine Church, Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence. Visitation respectively omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Visiting Nurse Service, 6 Blackstone Valley Place, Suite 515, Lincoln, R.I. 02865 or to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Burial with military honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
