Vincent S. Trombetti, 90, of North Providence, passed away Friday, November 13, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in Providence. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Gallo) Trombetti. Born in Johnston, he was a son of the late Peter and Vincenza (D’Agostino) Trombetti.
Vincent was a Deputy Sheriff with the Providence County Sheriffs Department. He was also Banquet Manager at various RI restaurants including Maria’s Restaurant in Cranston and the Old Canteen Restaurant on Federal Hill in Providence. He served in the United States Army during WWII.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 3 sons, Vincent L. Trombetti and his wife, Isabel; Peter M. Trombetti; and David Trombetti and his wife, Donna; 3 grandchildren, Nicole Marie Trombetti, Lauren Trombetti and Gino Trombetti; and a great grand-daughter, Adrianna Marie Fortin. He was the brother of the late Caroline Cruso, Louis J. Trombetti, Gennaro Trombetti, and Dominic Trombetti.
Vincent was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He lovrd to spend summer weekends with his family in Boston. He received many citations for his charitable work. For example, every Christmas he built elaborate ginger bread houses and delivered them to schools and hospitals. He was also a member of the Tuscan Social Club since 1960.
A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 7 P.M. at the Maceroni Funeral Home 1381 Smith St., North Providence. Visitation 4-7 P.M. prior to the Service.
