Vincent "Poppy" Scolardi

June 5, 1917 — January 8, 2015

Vincent Scolardi “Poppy”, 97, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Mary (Magno) Scolardi. They were happily married for 71 years. He was the loving father of the late Joseph Scolardi. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Felix and Elvera (Arivello) Scolardi.
Mr. Scolardi was employed at the former Brown & Sharpe Manufacturing as a sheet metal worker before his retirement in 1980. He was also a Navy Veteran serving during WWII.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving daughter, Judy Pelagalli and her husband Larry, with whom he lived and a sister, Anna Trabucco. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Jodi, Marc and Bianca Pelagalli and great-grandsons, Brayden and Ashton. He was the brother of the late Anthony and Gerald Scolardi.
Visiting hours will be held Monday MORNING, January 12, 2015 from 8:30am to 9:30am at the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at St. Pius V. Church, Eaton St., Providence. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to: Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
