VINCENT LANGELLA, 89, of Johnston, passed away Monday, January 5, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Michelina (Caparelli) Langella for 68 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Camillio and Louise (DeFusco) Langella.
Mr. Langella was the owner and operator of Langella Tire Inc. before retiring. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II. An accomplished pilot, he enjoyed flying single and multi-engine aircraft. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Langella also enjoyed golfing and spending time with his cherished family.
Besides his wife he is also survived by four children, Patricia Quaranta and her husband Dennis, Elaine Langella, Vincent Langella, Jr. and his wife Paula and Robert Langella; three brothers, Albert, Nick and Thomas Langella; a sister, Beverly Bell; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Michael Langella and the brother of the late Anthony Langella and Josephine Paolino.
Visitation will be held WEDNESDAY MORNING, January 7, 2015 from 8:15 – 9:15 a.m. at the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, 645 Hartford Ave., Providence. Interment with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
