Veronica G. Mitchell

VERONICA G. (DeFUSCO) MITCHELL, 87, of Johnston, passed away Friday, February 21, 2014 at the Riverview Healthcare Community. She was the wife of the late James P. Mitchell. Born in Johnston, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Raphaella (Merchelano) DeFusco.

She is survived by her son, James A. Mitchell and his wife, Deborah; a daughter, Karen Wells and her husband, Joseph: five grandchildren, Joseph Wells, Jason Wells, James Mitchell, Robert Goddard and Gayle Porcelli; five great grandchildren, Evan, Lucy, Harry, Domenic and Benjamin; and two sisters, Isabella Barron and Barbara Rocchio. She was the sister of the late Joseph, Roy, Raymond, William, Angelo, Anthony and Ralph DeFusco, Sylvia Cerra, Christine Sarro, Concetta Traficante, and Carmena Liberato.

Her funeral will be held Monday, February 24, 2014 at 9 a.m. from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Ave, Johnston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Sunday 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to St. Robert Bellarmine Food Shelf, 1804 Atwood Ave., Johnston, RI 02919.
