Thomas J. Twardowski, Sr., 80, of Providence, passed away Monday, January 18, 2010 at Miriam Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Esther E. (Gaito) Twardowski. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Joseph and Angela "Alice" (Schab) Twardowski.
He had been an auto technician at Tasca Ford and had later worked for Northeast Clarklift. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church Choir.
Thomas was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Besides his wife of 58 years, he leaves his children, Thomas J. Twardowski, Jr., David M. Twardowski and his wife, Linda, Robert S. Twardowski and his wife, Susan and Carol A. Twardowski-Heap and her husband, D. Scott Heap; a sister, Theresa Coady of MD and seven grandchildren, Kristen, David, Thomas III, Ryan, Robert M., Scott and Mandy. He was the brother of the late Frank, Stanley and Anthony Twardowski and Julia Dopkowski.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m., from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 64 Brayton Ave., Providence. VISITATION Wednesday 4-7 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
