THOMAS Di Pippo, 93, of Providence, passed away peacefully at Rhode Island Veterans Home in Bristol on Thursday, April 18, 2013 surrounded by his Band of Brothers, all truly members of the greatest generation. He was the beloved husband of the late Helen (Simeone) DiPippo for 66 years. A lifelong resident of Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph and Carmella (Luongo) DiPippo.
Thomas was in charge of Production Control at. B.B. Greenberg Manufacturing Co. until his retirement in 1992. He served in the United States Army in World War II from 1942 to 1945 as a member of the 2nd Infantry Division. He saw action in Normandy, Northern France, The Ardenne, Rhineland and Central Europe. From D-Day to V-E Day, his Division advanced 1665 miles consistently defeating all enemy units in its path.
Thomas was the loving father of Thomas J. DiPippo and his wife, Jean. He was the brother of Ann (DiPippo) Smith and her late husband Charles Smith.
