SALVATORE DELLAGROTTA, JR., 77, of Providence, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at home surrounded by his cherished family. He was the beloved husband of Concetta (Viti) DellaGrotta for 55 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Emily (Bocchino) DellaGrotta.
Mr. DellaGrotta had worked for Clifford Metal before retiring and was honorably discharge from the United States Army. He was known as “The Mayor of Dunkin Donuts” by many of his friends and family.
Besides his wife he is survived by two children, Ken DellaGrotta and Linda DellaGrotta and two grandchildren, Kyle and Taylor DellaGrotta. He was the brother of the late Marion Roccabello.
His funeral will be held Monday, November 4, 2013 at 9 a.m., from the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence. VISITATION Sunday 4-7 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
