RONALD M. LOMBARDI, 65, of North Providence and Narragansett, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 3, 2014 at South County Hospital, Wakefield. He was the beloved husband of Mary Ann (DePaola) Lombardi for 43 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Jennie (DiBattista) Lombardi.
Mr. Lombardi graduated from the URI School of Pharmacy in May of 1970. He completed his residency through the Rhode Island Hospital Pharmacy Resident Program in June of 1971 and began his career as Staff Pharmacist at Jane Brown. He then became Assistant Director of Pharmacy with a promotion to Director of Pharmacy at Roger Williams Medical Center and later joined the hospitals administration as Assistant Vice President. He began his 22 year career at the New England Sinai Hospital as the Vice President of Operations and went on to become Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Operations. Mr. Lombardi was a member of the Rhode Island Society of Hospital Pharmacists and was also a member of the Harbour Island Dock Association.
Besides his wife he is survived by a son, Ronald C. Lombardi and his wife Amy; a sister, Josephine Falcone and a grandson, Rocco Lombardi. He was the brother of the late Salvatore Lombardi.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 9 a.m., from the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Ave., Providence. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
