Romolo Evangelista, 94, of Providence and Hollywood Beach, Florida, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Tockwotton on the Waterfront. He was the beloved husband of 49 years of the late Teresa (Maceroni) Evangelista. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Eduardo and Clorinda (Baratta) Evangelista.

Romolo was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Teresa and time shared with his family, especially in Florida. He founded Federal Electronics, Inc. in 1948. He was a communicant of St. Augustine Church and was an Army Air Force Veteran of World War II.

Romolo is survived by his loving sons, Edward M. Evangelista and his wife Renee of Lincoln and Richard J. Evangelista and his wife Mia of Providence; and five grandchildren, Alex, Edward, Richard, Gianna and Robert Evangelista. He was the brother of the late Rosalina, Robert, Gino, Joseph and Armando Evangelista.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Ave., Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Evangelista Family Fund, c/o The Rhode Island Foundation, One Union Station, Providence, RI 02903.
