Robert O. Petrucci, 78, of Greenville, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Frank and Elisa (D’Orchis) Petrucci.
ROBERT WAS THE OWNER AND OPERATOR OF BROOK FLORIST FOR 53 YEARS and was an FTD member for over 40 years. He was a generous supporter of the arts in Rhode Island including the Providence Performing Arts Center and was a board member of the Ocean State Opera Company. He was a proud sponsor of North Providence West Little League for many years and was also an avid Yankees fan.
He leaves two brothers, Joseph and Raymond Petrucci and was the brother of the late Frank, Ralph and John Petrucci, Evelyn Read, Anna Macchia, Belinda Johnson, Aileen Petrucci, Lucy Perini, Trudy Pomoransky, Vincenza Labriole and Dorothy Andrews. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a godson, Aris A. Maddalena.
His funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m., from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Brayton Ave., Providence. Visitation Sunday 3-7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
