Rita C. Taraborelli

Rita C. Taraborelli ( Scarmuzzelli)., 91, of Providence, passed away at the home of her son surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Joseph "Jake" Taraborelli. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late William and Madeline (Morrissey) Scarmuzzelli.

Rita was an assembler at Universal Optical before retiring in 1986. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son Louis Taraborelli and his wife Barbara Pernorio-Taraborelli; three grandchildren, Joseph Taraborelli, Janet Lee Rotondo and Lory Ann Taraborelli-Elliott and her husband Robert Elliott, and three great-grandchildren Angelica Lee Taraborelli, Markayla Shirley Rotondo and Mark Vincent Rotondo. She was the sister of the late Frederick Morrissey.

Her funeral will be held Monday, July 16, 2012 at 9 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Holy Cross Church, 645 Hartford Ave., Providence. Visitation Sunday 4-7 pm. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI, 02904.
