Rita C. Imondi (Ventura), 73, of Providence, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. She was the devoted wife of Harold Imondi for 52 years. Born in Coventry, she was the daughter of Antonio and Lucy (Centracchio) Ventura.
Rita worked at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital before retiring. She had an overwhelming love for her family and friends. She touched many lives with her kind and generous heart. Rita’s grandchildren were the light of her life. She had a passion for cooking and was an extremely talented baker.
Besides her husband she leaves her beloved children, Dr. David M. Imondi and his wife Dr. Suzanne Hebert-Imondi, Lynn Tramonti and son-in-law, Richard Tramonti; four cherished grandchildren, Jenna and Krista Tramonti, Grace and Dominic Imondi; two brothers, Anthony and Robert Ventura and two sisters, Carol Calicchia and Jacqueline Bearse. She was the sister of the late Edward and Shirley Ventura.
Her funeral will be held Monday at 9 am, from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Ave., Providence. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. VISITATION Sunday 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rita’s memory may be made to Blessed Sacrament School, 240 Regent Ave., Providence, RI 02908.
