RITA J. (PENNACCHIA) D'ANDREA, 85, of Johnston, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at home surrounded by her cherished family. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Fortuna (Golderese) Pennacchia.
Rita owned and operated Pennacchia’s Bakery until 1982 and for the last 20 years worked as a CNA for Assisted Daily Living. She was a graduate of St. Xavier Academy and Bryant College. She enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles and most of all spending quality time with her family.
A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she is survived by her three daughters, Antonette “Netty” Zuromski and her husband Richard, Joanne Blair and her husband Gene and Helen D’Andrea-Curtis and her husband Peter; four grandchildren, Richard “Rick” Zuromski, Jennifer Benell, Nicholas Blair and Joseph Blair; and five great-grandchildren, Christopher, Isabella, Nolan, Cora and Dylan.
Her funeral will be held Monday, June 8, 2015 at 10:15 a.m. from the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:15 a.m. at Holy Ghost Church, 1 Knight St., Providence.
