Peter Conti

November 5, 1925 — June 23, 2014

PETER CONTI, 88, of Providence passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 at home. He was the beloved husband of Amelia (Manco) Conti for 63 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Pietro and Nicolina (Colasanto) Conti.

Mr. Conti had worked for the US Postal Service before retiring. A Navy Veteran of WWII he served in the Normandy Invasion. He was a member of the Lymansville Memorial VFW Post 1011 and the Mt. Pleasant Disabled American Veterans - Chapter 21. Mr. Conti was also a member of Triggs Golf Course and was an avid Yankee Fan.

Besides his wife he is survived by his son, Anthony Conti; three daughters, Sharon Conti-O’Brien, Carol Conti-Rotella and her husband Guy and Jane Conti-Dutko; a sister, Ann Calise; four grandchildren, Jessica Wandyes, Michael O’Brien, Andrew Rotella and Richard Dutko, Jr.; and three great grandchildren, Tyler O'Brien, Maiya Wandyes and Talia Wandyes. He was the brother of the late Eugene Conti, Anthony Conti, Helen Catone and Jennie Balasco.

Visitation will be held Friday Morning, June 27, 2014 from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. followed by a service at 9 a.m. in the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
