OWEN J. MAISANO, 93, of Providence, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at home on Sunday, December 4, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Pamela (Rossi) Maisano. They were happily married for 29 years. Born in Bristol, RI, he was the son of the late John and Anna (Santo) Maisano.
Mr. Maisano was a heavy machine operator and worked for the RI Bridge Authority for many years before his retirement. He was also a Marine Veteran of WWII serving in the Battle of Iwo Jima receiving the Purple Heart.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children, James Maisano and his wife Catherine, Katherine Welch, Judy Briggs and Nancy Pryce. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Timothy Welch, Jessica Francis, John and Andrew Monroe, Nicole Fisette, Kaitlyn and Jeffrey Briggs; and dear great-grandchildren, Eli, Brady, Calista and Rex. He was the brother of the late Owen, Salvatore, Carmine “Pip”, Anthony, Pasquale, William, John and Louis Maisano, Betty Romano, Emily Proto, Virginia DelToro, Lucy Camera and Helen Mello.
Visitation will be held Wednesday (MORNING) December 7th from 8:15am to 9:15am at the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Ave., Providence. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
