Norman M. Jones

NORMAN M. JONES, 92, of Providence, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, June 21, 2013 at Elmhurst Extended Care, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Margaret M. Jones for 55 years. Born in Providence he was the son of the late Markham and Edna (Rylander) Jones.

Mr. Jones had worked for Industrial National Bank for over 40 years before retiring. He was an Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II. As a B-17 pilot, he flew more than 35 missions during the war.

Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Laurie Jones and her husband Sam Figuli; a son, Richard Jones, his wife Sheila and their son, Brendan; a son, Robert Jones and a sister, Marilyn Doxey. He was the brother of the late Robert and Beverly Jones.


His funeral service will be held Monday, June 24, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by interment with Military Honors at the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation Sunday 3-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Association of RI, 245 Waterman St., Providence, RI 02906.
