Nilda Martucci (Quaranta), 96, of North Providence, passed away peacefully, Saturday, January 7, 2012 at North Bay Manor. She was the wife of the late Amadeo Martucci. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Leonardo and Lucia (DeGiulio) Quaranta.
Mrs. Martucci and her husband were the owners of the former Martucci’s Fruit and Produce. Later she worked for City Hall Hardware and Columbus National Bank before retiring. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella - Santa Maria Circle.
She is survived by two sisters, Katherine Curreri and Theresa Capuano; a brother in law, Ernest Martucci and many devoted nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Mary Masciarelli, Albert Quaranto, Angelo Quaranto and Joseph Quaranta.
Visitation will be held Tuesday Morning, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon in Holy Ghost Church, Knight St., Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Crossroads RI, 160 Broad St., Providence, RI 02903.
