Michael John Scarpellino

MICHAEL JOHN SCARPELLINO, 77, of North Providence, passed away Tuesday, February 5th, 2013 at home. Born August 24th, 1935 in Providence RI to John and Edna (Wise) Scarpellino, Michael graduated La Salle Academy in 1953 and the University of Rhode Island, College of Pharmacy in 1957. He also served his Country in the United States Army. He married the love of his life, Beverly Rita Ross, on November 11, 1958. He was a partner in the DeBellis Pharmacy; where he served the community with extraordinary commitment and compassion for over thirty years. Upon his retirement from DeBellis he continued to work as a pharmacist for the State of Rhode Island.
Michael loved his family, which spent its summers at Roy Carpenter’s Beach, and his every thought was about their health and happiness. He is survived by Beverly, his loving wife of fifty-four years, his five children and six grandchildren and his brothers Thomas and John. He was fortunate to spend his retirement traveling with Beverly. As the first man in his family to graduate college, he was blessed to see every one of his five children: Lissa, Nancy, Jane, Michael and Dacia, graduate college and also to see them happily married. He was most proud of his grandchildren: Autumn, Benjamin, Gianna, Evan, Michael and Joshua.
His funeral will be held Monday, February 11th, 2013 at 9 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, Fourth St., North Providence. Burial will follow at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
