MATTEO TAVONE, 91, of Providence, passed away Thursday August 31, 2006, at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center. He was the husband of the late Assunta “Susie” (Ursillo) Tavone. They had been married for 68 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John and Maria (Mancieri) Tavone. He had worked as a supervisor for the former Railway Express Agency.
Matteo was a loving husband and father and a devoted grandfather. He leaves a son, Richard M. Tavone; a daughter Maryann Capaldi; a brother, Michael Tavone; a sister, Caroline Coletti; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 10am, in the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Home and Hospice Care of R.I., 169 George St., Pawtucket, R.I. 02860.
