Pichette, Mary Jane “Janie” Pichette(Singleton), 81, of North Providence, passed away Monday, July 18, 2011 at Golden Crest Nursing Centre. She was the beloved wife of Wilfred J. Pichette. Born in Providence, where she lived most of her life, she was the daughter of the late Roderick G. and Jane (Murray) Singleton.
Janie was a volunteer with the food bank at the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul in Providence.
Besides her husband of 61 years, she is survived by two sons, Wilfred J. Pichette, Jr. and Paul R. Pichette; two daughters, Mary LaHue and Laura McCoy; a brother, Robert Singleton; two sisters, Pauline Singleton and Ida Proulx; 11 grandchilderen,14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Earnest Singleton, Raymond Singleton, Roderick G. Singleton, Jr., Charles Singleton, Henry J. Singleton, Sr. and Pearl Singleton.
Her funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m., from the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Providence. Visitation Wednesday 5-8 p.m. Burial will be in RI Veterans Cemetery in Exeter. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Fund, 901 Atwells Ave., Providence, RI 02909.
