Mary Montecalvo

MARY (RAVO) MONTECALVO, 81, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at home surrounded by her cherished family. She was the wife of the late Silvio “Sal” Montecalvo. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Rocco and Pasqualina (Filacci) Ravo.

Mrs. Montecalvo worked for Stop & Shop and Weight Watchers before retiring. She was an advisory board member and volunteer at the Sal Mancini Senior Center, a member of the red hatters and an active parishioner of Mary Mother of Mankind Church. She loved spending quality time with her family and enjoyed playing cards and bingo.

Mary was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her son, Michael Montecalvo, Sr. and his wife Carol; two daughters, Mary Ann Mattiello and her husband Nicholas and Sally Montecalvo and her partner John Bellucci; a sister, Jennie Scotto; seven grandchildren, Donna Adler, Michael Montecalvo Jr., Anthony Montecalvo, Nicholas Mattiello Jr., Tony Mattiello, Anthony Aquilante and Joseph Aquilante; and four great grandchildren, Brooke, A.J., Sophia and Julian. She was the sister of the late Josephine Santo, Antonio Ravo and Theresa Ravo.

Her funeral will be held Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 8 a.m. from the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth St., North Providence. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITATION FRIDAY 4-7 p.m.
