Mary M. Burgio

MARY M. BURGIO (LANCHESTER), 93, of Providence, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2007 at Briarcliff Manor in Johnston. She was the beloved wife of the late Sebastian “Mike” Burgio. Born in Brookline, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Henry D. and Isabella W. (Fram) Lanchester. She moved to Providence in 1939,

Mary had worked as a sales clerk for the former Outlet Dept. Store for 11 years, retiring in 1980. She had previously worked for the former City Hall Hardware for 7 years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles

She leaves three sons, Joseph H, Earl H. and Michael Burgio; three daughters, Lucille Duchesneau, Marilyn Goddu and Dorothy Brandl; 17 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Clarence, David, Laurence and Nelson Lanchester, Violet Crosby, Beulah Benson and Margaret Walker.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Service Monday at 10am in the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence. Visitation Sunday 3-6pm. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
