Marion “Nina” DeSantis, 93, of North Providence, passed away Monday, March 14, 2011 at Hopkins Manor. She was the wife of the late Joseph E. DeSantis and the daughter of the late Alphonse and Concetta (Ottaviano) Ricci.
Marion and her husband had been the owner and operator of a fish and chip restaurant in the 1960s. Her “gravy” and lasagna were the stuff of legend. She loved being “grandma,” and she adored all canines.
She is survived by her two sons, John and Joseph DeSantis; a daughter, Pia Athas; and her three grandchildren, Scott Miller, Joseph DeSantis and Bianca Athas. She was the mother of the late Donna Miller and sister of the late Dr. Eugene Ricci, Dr. Edward Ricci and Enis Garganese.
Her Funeral Service will be held PRIVATELY on Friday in the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME. Private entombment will follow in Our Risen Christ Mausoleum at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Calling hours respectfully omitted.
