MARIO T.“BUTCHIE” FLORIO, 60, of Johnston, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2006, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. He was the beloved husband of Ann Marie (Thompson) Florio. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Mario and Celia (Marinaccio) Florio.
Mario had worked as a surveyor for the Rhode Island Department of Transportation and had previously been employed as a service manager for Independent Glass for over ten years. He was a loving husband and father and a devoted grandfather. He was also an avid Yankee fan and a member of the R.I. Army National Guard.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Mario T. Florio II; three daughters, Lisa Ianniello, Rose Marie LePage, Rhonda Capraro and Nicole Rudis; three brothers, Pasco, Ralph and James Florio; a sister, Susan Marinaccio and twelve grandchildren.
His funeral will be held Monday at 9am, from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Holy Ghost Church, Knight St., Providence. VISITATION Sunday 4-7pm. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
