Mario D. Martinelli

MARIO D. MARTINELLI, 96, of Johnston, passed away Friday, June 21, 2013. He was the husband of the late Caroline (Masciarelli) Martinelli. Born in Providence he was the son of the late Vincent and Jennie (Tresca) Martinelli.
Mr. Martinelli worked as a supervisor for the U.S. Naval Department - Engine Branch before retiring. Later he worked for Anderson Little in the Warwick Mall
He is survived by his son, Kenneth V. Martinelli; a daughter, Beverly LaVallee and her husband, Robert; a brother, Guido Martinelli; five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and his longtime caretaker, Luciana Card. He was the brother of the late Louis and Albert Martinelli and Julia Nappi.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 9 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, 645 Hartford Ave., Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Monday 5-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd., Suite 3004, Warwick, RI 02886.
