MARIE A. MAGNO (CANNONE), 88, of Johnston, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Cherry Hill Manor. She was the wife of the late John Magno. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Lorenzo and Carmela (Landi) Cannone.
Marie graduated from CCRI and worked as an LPN at Women & Infants Hospital before retiring. She will be remembered for the care and love she gave to many newborns in their first few days of life.
She is survived by her four sons, John A. Magno and his wife Deborah, Michael L. Magno, William J. Magno and Richard J. Magno; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Pat, Joseph and Lawrence Cannone, Vincenza Borges, Edith Olivo, Amelia Kimback, Anna Lapolla and Lucy Coppola.
Visitation will be held Monday Morning, November 3, 2014 from 9 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. at the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Holy Ghost Church, 1 Knight St., Providence. Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Disabled American Veterans of RI, One Capitol Hill, Providence, RI 02908.
