Marguerite Giorgi

Marguerite Giorgi ( Ursillo) of North Providence, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2011 surrounded by her loving and adoring family. She was the beloved wife of Luigi J. Giorgi. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Gennaro and Marianna (Carcieri) Ursillo.

Marguerite was a dedicated teacher’s assistant at Green Acres Country Day School in North Providence. A devout communicant of St. Augustine Church, Marguerite’s first love was spending time with her family and many friends. She had a sincere appreciation and affection for people and good conversation. She had a passion for literature, music, and the arts, and her talent for baking and cooking was well-renowned.

Besides her husband of 62 years she leaves her children Lois A. Papa and her husband Thomas, Ann Marie Gateman and her husband Marty, John L. Giorgi and his wife Lori, and Joseph A. Giorgi and his wife Kathleen; a brother Anthony Ursillo; a sister Anna Carpionato; seven grandchildren, Derrick Papa, Gina Gateman, Christopher Gateman Jacqueline Papa, Crystal Giorgi, Louis Giorgi and Ashley Giorgi and a great grandson, Rocco Adam Papa. She was the sister of the late William, Horace, and Armando Ursillo, Gilda Imondi, and Concetta Ursillo.

Visitation at the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, Friday morning, September 2, 2011 from 8:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Augustine Church, Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Home and Hospice Care of RI, The Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
