Margaret A LeBlanc, (Di Marco), 86, of North Providence, passed away peacefully on Mother’s day, Sunday, May 12, 2013 in the comfort of her home and in the presence of her children and grandchildren. She was the daughter of the late Giacomo and Carmella (Volpigno) DiMarco and the wife of the late Richard LeBlanc, Sr. She was predeceased by her brothers: Angelo, Victor and Mario Asciolla and her beloved James DiMarco.
Margaret is survived by her children, Joyce Seravo and Marc LeBlanc, Sr., of North Providence and Richard LeBlanc, Jr., of Florida. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Anthony Seravo, Jr., Courtney, Marc, Jr. and Malissa LeBlanc and her sister, Barbara George and Barbara’s husband, Anthony George. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Margaret will be remembered for her kindness to others. Family was the center of her universe, especially her children and grandchildren, whom she deeply loved. She enjoyed cooking and people tended to gather at her home because everyone was always welcome at her table. In her later years, she became attuned to the rhythms of nature and she marveled at the precise and timely arrival of the New England seasons, especially the blossoming of spring.
During the last two weeks of her life, when asked what her children should do after her passing, Margaret said:
You will hurt, but don’t let the hurt destroy you. After you grieve, you will experience a sense of freedom. Enjoy it and don’t look back because you took good care of your mother. You have your lives and your children. All of us will be called home to Jesus. This time, it is my turn and I am not afraid. I have been his faithful servant. Look at the beautiful family I raised!
Her example will guide those left behind and her traditions will live on in us. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Her funeral will be held Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 9 a.m. from the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Ave., Providence. Visitation Wednesday 5-8 p.m. Burial will be in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margaret's name to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
