Margaret M. "Peggy" Jones

July 17, 1931 — September 15, 2015

MARGARET M. “PEGGY” JONES (ROUSSEAU), 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Elmhurst Extended Care, Providence. Mrs. Jones was pre-deceased by her beloved husband of 55 years, Norman M. Jones. She is survived by a daughter, Laurie Jones and her husband, Samuel Figuli; a son Richard Jones, his wife Sheila and their son, Brendan and a son, Robert Jones. She was the daughter of the late George and Catherine (O’Neil) Rousseau.

Mrs. Jones worked for Industrial National Bank and later for Old Colony Bank and Citizens Bank. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to all 50 states. As a lifelong Providence resident, she loved everything Rhode Island, especially quahog chowder, clamcakes, Awful-Awfuls and Del’s.

Her family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of Elmhurst Extended Care and Home and Hospice Care of RI for their wonderful and compassionate care given to both Margaret and Norman in their last years.

Her funeral will be held Monday, September 21, 2015 at 9 a.m. from the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine Church, 639 Mt. Pleasant Ave, Providence. Internment will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. VISITATION SUNDAY 2-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (michaeljfox.org).
