Margaret Groccia, 90, of Providence, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at Roger Williams Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Providence, she was the daughter of the late Natale and Concetta (Nigri) Groccia.
Margaret was an inspector for the former Rau Fastener Co. of Providence until retiring in 1985. She was a member of the River Edge Senior Association and the Sunshine Club and was a communicant of St. Thomas Church for over 60 years.
She leaves three brothers, Louis Groccia and his wife Celia, Alfred Groccia and his wife Marie and Armando Groccia and his wife Rose and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Michael and John Groccia, Mary Rossi and Rose Sturiale.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m., from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St Thomas Church, Providence. Visitation Tuesday 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Ave., Providence, RI 02909.
