LAURA LONGO “NANA” (DI NAPOLI), 96, of Johnston, another member of the “Greatest Generation”, passed away Friday, June 7, 2013 while vacationing in Myrtle Beach, SC. She was the beloved wife of the late Alexander M. Longo and the daughter of the late Antonio and Teresa (D’Attoro) DiNapoli.
Laura had worked for Beacon Records and had been active with St Augustine Church and volunteered at the DaVinci Center for many years. She leaves her children, Kathy Cardente and Cindy Placella and her husband Steve; her beloved grandchildren, Bryan and Christopher Cardente, Matthew and Nicole Placella and her beloved great grandchildren, Jared, Breanna, Kendra and Brayden Cardente. She was the sister of the late Domenic, Albert “Sonny”, Armand, Vincent and Frederick DiNapoli and Mary Boonas.
Visitation Saturday morning, June 22, 2013 from 8:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Augustine Church, 639 Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence. Entombment will be at Our Risen Christ Mausoleum, St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Children’s Wishes, 2346 Post Rd.
