Josephine “Joanie” Barbarita (Verdelotti), 65, of Johnston, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, July 26, 2009 at Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Amadeo and Anna (Mangiarelli) Verdelotti.
Joanie was a store manager for Crugnales Bakery. She leaves her daughter, Catherine Barbarita; a brother, Joseph Verdelotti; two sisters, Marie DiBiasio and Lucille DiCenzo and nine nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m., from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Cranston St., Cranston. VISITATION Tuesday 5-8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
