Josephine Pensotti

JOSEPHINE PENSOTTI (DiPIRO), 93, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Steere House. She was the wife of the late Candido “Candi” Pensotti. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Domenic and Mary (Ballaro) DiPiro.

Josephine was a kind and generous person who took extraordinary pride in her two grandsons, and who took great pleasure in caring for her extended family. She worked for the Providence School Department for many years before retiring.

She is survived by two daughters, Celeste Bilotti and her husband William, and Linda P. Selecman and her husband George; a sister, Yolanda Rose; and two grandchildren, Matthew Bilotti and his wife Caitlin, and Alexander Bilotti. She was the sister of the late Rose Lombardi, Lawrence DiPiro, Isabel Calitri and Gladys Mendillo. She is also survived by her nephew Augusto Pensotti and his wife Paola Padulla, and nieces Piera Pensotti, Patricia DiPiro, Margaret Slozek, Sandra Arnold, Cathy Zanfagna, Barbara Izzo, Lori Gardiner and June Rose, and by dear family friend Marie Baillargeon and her family.

Her daughters want to thank Steere House for providing a home for Josephine for the last four years, with particular gratitude to Justina Pires, Lucia Bothelo, and the rest of the third floor staff for their loving care and devotion.

Visiting hours will be held Saturday Morning, November 23, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Mary Church, 1525 Cranston St., Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Donations in her memory may be made to Steere House, 100 Borden St., Providence, RI 02903.
