Joseph B. Toste, 84, of Providence, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Heritage Hills Nursing Centre. He was the loving husband of the late Vivian (Esposito) Toste. Born in Bristol, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Cruz) Toste.

He is survived by seven children, Joseph Toste (Lysa), Honore Meeneghan (Kim), Margurite Leffingwell (William), Mark Toste (Joan), Kathleen Hughes (Martin), Cheryl Ann Toste and John Toste (Jeannie); three step-children, Kathy Ritchie (Tim), Carolyn Light (Jeff) and Joseph Fillion (Ellen); a brother, Norman Toste; 19 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

Mr. Toste had a long career as a sheet metal worker after working for various nuclear energy companies. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 17.

His funeral will be held Friday, October 7, 2016 at 9 a.m. from the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Ghost Church, 1 Knight St., Providence. Interment with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITATION Thursday 4 - 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation of New England, 85 Astor Ave., Suite 2, Norwood, MA 02062 or to Knights of Columbus, 3200 Pawtucket Ave., East Providence, RI 02915.
