JOSEPH “Al” MONTAGUE., 77, of Lincoln, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, July 15, 2006, at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket. He was the husband of Theresa (Surprenant) Montague. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late James V. and Dorothy (Gallagher) Montague.

He had worked as a salesman for Wm. K. Toole Inc. of Pawtucket for many years. He was a Veteran of the Korean War and had received the Combat Infantry Badge, the Korean Service Medal with Bronze Star and the United Nations Medal. He was a member of the VFW and the AARP and enjoyed playing cards, especially Hi Lo Jack.

Joseph was a loving husband and father and a devoted grandfather and great grandfather. Besides his wife of 51 years, he leaves a son, Kevin J. Montague; two daughters, Karen Brown and Kerry Comella and her husband Richard “Mel” Comella.; a brother, John Montague, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was very proud of his grandson David who just returned from duty in Iraq. He was also the brother of the late Virginia Kelly.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday at 10am in St. Matthew Church, Dexter St., Central Falls. Visiting hours and flowers respectfully omitted. Burial with Military Honors will be in R.I. Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
